Tisanes, also known as herbal infusions, are blends of dried herbs, flowers, roots, nuts, fruits, and natural flavors that have a terrific, bold, and refreshing taste. Hibiscus leaves and Rosehip are used throughout our herb and fruit blends, which give the added benefit of naturally occurring Vitamin C. This is a delicious alternative to sugary beverages that have added chemical ingredients.
For different levels of strength, steep in boiling water to your preferred level. For more strength, steep for a longer period of time, or steep for only a few minutes to acquire a lighter flavor and less prominent taste. For a refreshing summertime drink, pour over ice and serve as refreshments. Customers have even written to tell us that tisanes make great popsicles, so the next time you’re craving something sweet and appetizing, try a frozen tisane!
Offer up a tisane instead of soda or sugary juice and feel great knowing they quench thirst with something natural without artificial ingredients. Below, we have provided the preferred ways to brew these highly delectable Tisanes:
Hot tea brewing method: Place 1.5 teaspoons of Tisane per cup (and add 2.5 teaspoons for a teapot). Pour in boiling water and steep the tisane for 3-7 minutes (or longer – Steeping longer adds more intense flavor). Pour into your cup and taste. We suggest you taste test first as Tisanes are naturally sweet. Add a small amount of sugar for a sweetened treat.
**do not add milk – the milk will curdle due to the ingredients in this blend.
Iced tea-brewing method: Do Not Pour Hot Liquid directly into a Glass Pitcher:
(To make 1 liter/quart): Place 12 teaspoons of any tisane into a teapot or heat-resistant pitcher. Pour 1 1/4 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. While steeping for 5 minutes, quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves. Add ice and top with cold water.
(A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water).
